Cowboy Pledge would like to thank the residents and staff of each Cowboy Properties apartment community located in the Salt Lake, Ogden, Heber and Park City areas for their support of the 2013 Cowboy Pledge Helping Hands for Safe Harbor event. This center helps victims of domestic abuse and provides a safe place for individuals and families to begin the recovery process.
This year Cowboy Properties employees and residents combined their efforts to collect new baby clothing and supplies along with a variety of school supplies to donate to the Safe Harbor center in Kaysville, Utah. Each Cowboy Properties resident along the Wasatch Front received an invitation to donate items that would help mothers in need care for infants and young children. The most needed items included baby care supplies and new clothing for infants and young children. Large sized diapers were also high on the list. School supplies and any items that could help entertain young children were also in demand. Many of these items were collected and all of them will be used by the center to help their clients while they are at the center and as they move back into the community.
The response to this invitation provided enough school supplies to fill several back packs and school bags with pencils, erasers, pens, rulers, glue sticks, crayons, markers and notebooks. Some of the back packs also contained activity books, construction paper, and coloring books. Residents also donated enough additional school supplies, including rulers, pens, pencils, notebooks, coloring books, markers and erasers, to provide Safe Harbor with a reserve of items that they can use in the future.
Many residents donated new clothing for infants and young children and a large number of baby care items such as baby bottles, washcloths, baby wipes, baby blankets, disposable diapers.
Cowboy Pledge offers a special thanks to the Cowboy Properties staff members from Oakstone and Country Oaks Apartments who helped sort and pack the donated items prior to delivering them to Safe Harbor. This activity took place at the Oakstone Apartments clubhouse located in Clearfield, Utah. The volunteers had fun sorting and making sure that all of the items that were going to Safe Harbor were new. They found that several residents had donated used baby and toddler sized clothes that were in excellent condition and they prepared them for donation to the 2013 Cowboy Pledge winter clothing, coat and blanket for the Road Home homeless shelter.
Safe Harbor greatly appreciated the donation of so many items and expressed their thanks to the residents and staff of each Cowboy Properties apartment community for thinking of them.
Cowboy pledge appreciates everyone who donated items to this event and the volunteers who helped sort and assemble them for delivery to Safe Harbor.
